FAW Audi committed to enriching product lineup in China

FAW-Audi Achieves Milestone with Over 9 Million Vehicles Sold

FAW-Audi, the renowned joint venture brand between FAW Group and Audi, recently celebrated a significant achievement in July by surpassing the milestone of selling over 9 million vehicles. This remarkable feat was announced during the 2024 mid-year performance communication meeting, despite the intense price competition that the automotive market has been facing this year.

The sales figures for Audi in China in the first half of 2024 were reported in the semi-annual report, with a total of 320,400 vehicles sold, marking a slight 1.9% year-on-year decline. FAW-Audi, as the primary contributor, sold 301,600 vehicles during the same period, experiencing a 4.9% decrease compared to the previous year. The Audi A6L continues to hold its position as the best-selling model in China, with an impressive average monthly sales volume of over 14,000 units and nearly 100,000 units sold in China from January to July.

In response to the competitive global market landscape, Audi has introduced the Audi Agenda, a strategic plan to launch over 20 models featuring all-electric, plug-in hybrid, and new-generation internal combustion engine powertrains in 2024 and 2025. This initiative aims to expand and refresh the product lineup to meet evolving consumer demands.

Several new models have already been unveiled this year under this strategy, including the Audi A8L Horch Founder Edition 60TFSI and updated Q family models such as Q7, SQ7, and Q8. Looking ahead to the future, FAW-Audi is set to introduce key models like the all-new Audi A5L, Q5L, Q6L e-tron, and A6L e-tron in the coming year, alongside imported models like the Audi A5 Avant, S5, and S5 Avant.

An exciting addition to the lineup is the Audi A6 e-tron, which made its debut in late July and has already commenced pre-sales in Europe. This model is expected to have its wheelbase extended in the next-generation A6L tailored for the Chinese market. Despite the initial plan to designate odd-numbered models as internal combustion engine vehicles and even-numbered models as electric vehicles, the iconic status of the A6L series within FAW-Audi’s brand heritage has led to both the fuel-powered A6L and the electric A6 e-tron long-wheelbase version coexisting to cater to the diverse preferences of Chinese consumers.

As FAW-Audi continues to innovate and enrich its product lineup, the brand remains committed to delivering exceptional vehicles that embody the perfect blend of performance, luxury, and sustainability. With a strong focus on meeting the evolving needs of the market, FAW-Audi is poised for continued success in the dynamic automotive industry.
