Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 24, FAW Audi announced its plan to launch the new Audi A5 family in China, consisting of four models: the A5 Sedan, S5 Sedan, A5 Avant, and S5 Avant. Additionally, FAW Audi will unveil the new China-made A5L, specifically tailored for the Chinese market.

The new A5 family will showcase Audi’s latest design language, featuring a dual-screen setup with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch entertainment display for the front passenger. Interior upgrades include a modern flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel, compact electronic gear lever, and futuristic window control switches.

Driving intelligence in the new Audi A5L will be enhanced by a custom intelligent driving system developed in partnership with Huawei, utilizing the Huawei ADS 2.0 architecture with Audi-specific tuning. This system is currently undergoing local testing and will be revealed globally at Auto Guangzhou 2024.

Powering the A5L will be Audi’s fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, offering three power configurations to cater to different driving preferences. The powertrain will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency.
