Ferrari Admits It Made a Mistake When It Deleted Real Buttons

Ferrari has taken note of customer feedback and made the necessary changes to ensure a better driving experience. The Amalfi, with its powerful V-8 engine and redesigned steering wheel, sets the standard for future Ferrari models. The decision to switch back to physical buttons on the steering wheel is a response to complaints about the capacitive-touch keys, which were found to be frustrating for many drivers.

Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s commercial boss, has confirmed that all upcoming Ferrari models will feature physical buttons on the steering wheel. This change will not only improve the user experience but also address safety concerns, as drivers can now keep their eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheel while operating the controls. Additionally, Gianmaria Fulgenzi, Ferrari’s product development boss, has mentioned that existing Ferrari owners can have their steering wheels retrofitted with physical buttons without having to replace the entire unit. This can be done at a dealer without the need to ship the car back to Italy.

The decision to embrace touch-sensitive keys initially stemmed from a desire to incorporate the latest technology into Ferrari’s vehicles. However, feedback from customers highlighted the limitations of touch controls in a high-performance driving environment. Galliera acknowledges that while touch buttons are innovative, they are not always practical when driving a Ferrari. The aim was to provide a seamless and familiar user experience similar to using a smartphone, but this approach did not align with Ferrari’s focus on safety and driver engagement.

Despite the challenges posed by touch controls, Ferrari remains committed to innovation and improving the driving experience for its customers. By reintroducing physical buttons on the steering wheel, Ferrari is ensuring that its vehicles strike the right balance between cutting-edge technology and driver-focused design. As Ferrari continues to evolve its lineup, drivers can expect a more intuitive and user-friendly interface that enhances the thrill of driving a Prancing Horse. In a surprising turn of events, Ferrari has reported record sales in 2024, delivering a total of 13,752 cars to customers around the world. This marks a 0.7% increase from the previous year, showcasing the brand’s resilience and popularity in the luxury sports car market.

Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic and economic uncertainties, Ferrari has managed to maintain its momentum and attract a steady stream of customers eager to own one of their iconic vehicles. The Italian automaker’s ability to adapt to changing market conditions and continue to deliver high-quality, high-performance cars has undoubtedly contributed to its success in 2024.

One of the key factors driving Ferrari’s record sales in 2024 is the launch of several new models that have captured the attention of car enthusiasts and collectors alike. The company’s commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technology has paid off, with customers eagerly snapping up the latest offerings from the brand.

In addition to new models, Ferrari has also continued to expand its presence in key markets around the world, further solidifying its position as a global leader in the luxury sports car segment. The brand’s strong brand recognition and reputation for excellence have helped to attract a diverse range of customers, from seasoned collectors to first-time buyers looking to experience the thrill of owning a Ferrari.

Looking ahead, Ferrari is poised to build on its success in 2024 and continue to push the boundaries of automotive excellence. With a strong lineup of new models in the pipeline and a commitment to delivering unparalleled performance and driving experiences, the brand is well-positioned to maintain its position as a leader in the luxury sports car market for years to come.

Overall, Ferrari’s record sales in 2024 are a testament to the brand’s enduring appeal and dedication to excellence. As the company looks towards the future, it is clear that Ferrari will continue to captivate car enthusiasts around the world with its iconic designs, superior performance, and unmatched prestige.
