Ferrari is set to introduce a new production line, known as the E-building, which will enhance its manufacturing capabilities without replacing the existing lines. The company remains tight-lipped about whether this move will lead to an increase in capacity. Ferrari’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, Enrico Galliera, emphasized that the decision to offer internal combustion, hybrid, and electric models in the future will be based on customer demand rather than sales or production targets.

Galliera stressed the importance of focusing on the company’s offerings rather than sales figures when determining the sales split between different propulsion types. He believes that forecasting sales based on propulsion types is presumptuous and disrespectful to customers, as it fails to account for individual preferences and emotions. This customer-centric approach underscores Ferrari’s commitment to prioritizing quality over quantity in its revenue strategy.

The E-building will play a crucial role in Ferrari’s pursuit of shortened development times and increased personalization options for customers. By consolidating the production of powertrains, including high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and axles, the company aims to differentiate its electric models from competitors and ensure long-term maintenance capabilities for all its vehicles. While Ferrari plans to source battery cells from various providers, Galliera hinted that lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries, favored by some in the market, are not suitable for Ferrari due to performance considerations.

The decision to bring key electric component production in-house reflects Ferrari’s determination to maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape. The company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is underscored by its strategic investments in advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable practices. As Ferrari continues to shape the future of luxury automotive engineering, enthusiasts can expect a blend of tradition, performance, and cutting-edge technology in every vehicle that bears the iconic prancing horse emblem.
