Alfa Romeo’s Future Plans for the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Models

Former Alfa Romeo boss Jean-Philippe Imparato had previously hinted at the possibility of the hot Quadrifoglio version of the new Stelvio-twinned Giulia packing “around 1000hp.” While this seems like an ambitious target, it is indicative of Alfa’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance in their upcoming models.

It is expected that Alfa will continue to offer a petrol-powered Quadrifoglio variant, featuring the current car’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. Imparato has reassured enthusiasts that the 513bhp power plant will comply with the stringent Euro 7 emissions regulations, ensuring that performance is not compromised in the pursuit of environmental sustainability.

As Alfa Romeo prepares to launch the new Stelvio and Giulia models, the company is winding down sales of the existing variants. The Quadrifoglio versions will see their order books close soon, signaling the end of an era for these high-performance models. Additionally, the 2.0-litre petrol versions of both cars will be phased out in the coming months.

While the diesel version of the Giulia will continue to be available in Europe, it will no longer be offered in the UK market. This marks a shift in Alfa’s strategy as they focus on refining their product lineup to meet the evolving demands of consumers.

Alfa Romeo’s success in the UK market hinges on the performance of the new Stelvio and Giulia models. With sales declining in recent years, the company is banking on these refreshed offerings to reinvigorate interest in the brand. By addressing key market trends and delivering high-performance vehicles, Alfa aims to regain its foothold in the competitive automotive landscape.

As Alfa Romeo looks towards the future, the upcoming Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models represent a new chapter in the brand’s storied history. With a focus on performance, innovation, and sustainability, these vehicles are poised to set new benchmarks in the luxury automotive segment.
