Ford Capri Review 2024, Price & Specs

The Ford Capri boasts a spacious and airy cabin, providing ample leg and headroom for both front and rear passengers. However, the rear headroom may be compromised if the car is equipped with the optional large panoramic roof. In terms of storage, the Capri excels with numerous storage bins throughout the cabin, including a generous 17-litre compartment under the armrest known as the Mega Console, perfect for storing laptops, small bags, or snacks for the road.

At the heart of the cockpit is a 14.6-inch vertical touchscreen that houses all major controls, from climate settings to audio controls. The unique sliding feature of the touchscreen, intended to counter screen glare, may come off as more of a gimmick than a practical function. Additional storage and two USB-C ports are located behind the screen, providing a secure space for valuables when the car is locked.

The software interface is user-friendly, allowing for multiple functions such as audio, navigation, and weather to be displayed simultaneously without overwhelming the driver. The inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features enhances connectivity and convenience for tech-savvy drivers.

The one-piece sports seats in the Capri are fully adjustable, with electronic controls for the driver’s seat. While well-cushioned, some may find a lack of under-thigh support uncomfortable during extended journeys. Familiar controls from VW cars, such as the digital driving screen and haptic touch buttons on the steering wheel, may appeal to those accustomed to Volkswagen’s design language.

Trim levels in the Capri may lack excitement, with the entry-level Select trim featuring a cabin clad in grey and black padded plastic that may appear slightly cheap compared to competitors like Audi. The interior design, influenced by VW Group underpinnings, may come across as lacking in material richness and interest when compared to rivals like the Peugeot e-3008 or the Polestar 2.

Overall, the Ford Capri offers a comfortable and practical interior with a focus on family-friendly features and connectivity options. While some ergonomic and design choices may not appeal to all drivers, the Capri’s spacious cabin and user-friendly technology make it a solid choice in its segment.
