The second recall involves 1,635 vehicles and addresses rear turn signals that may not activate when needed. Both issues stem from software errors in the body control modules of the affected vehicles, which were supposed to be fixed in earlier recalls. However, Ford identified that some vehicles still have incorrect software, leading to persistent lighting problems that could compromise visibility and increase the risk of accidents.
While there have been no reported crashes or injuries related to these lighting issues, Ford is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of its customers. Affected vehicle owners will be contacted via mail starting March 31 and can also reach out to Ford’s customer service department at 866-436-7332 for more information. The necessary software updates will be performed free of charge at authorized dealerships.
For easy identification, the taillight recall is referenced as 25S07, while the turn signal recall is referenced as 25C04. It is crucial for Maverick owners to act promptly upon receiving notification of these recalls to ensure their vehicles are operating safely on the road.
