Ford Ranger Review 2025, Price & Specs

When you climb into the cab of a pick-up truck, you might expect to be surrounded by a sea of black plastic. However, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak breaks this stereotype with its luxurious interior. The tops of the dash and doors are padded with imitation leather, and there are stylish design elements like painted trim and chrome accents around the air vents. While it may not rival a BMW interior, it is definitely a step up from a Ford Focus.

In contrast, lower trims like the XL and XLT feature more utilitarian black plastic interiors, but they still feel solid and well-built. The Ranger’s design is consistent across all trims, with a large touchscreen infotainment system that includes physical controls for easy access. The digital gauge cluster is standard on all models, providing clear information and easy navigation.

Driving the Ranger is surprisingly easy, thanks to its excellent visibility and commanding seating position. The square body and large mirrors make it simple to maneuver on the road, giving you a sense of confidence behind the wheel. The rear passenger space is typical for a double-cab pick-up, with enough legroom and generous headroom. The rear seats can be folded up to reveal storage cubbies or folded down to create a flat storage shelf.

Of course, the most important feature of any pick-up truck is the bed. The Ranger offers a payload of at least one tonne, with various hooks and tie-down points for securing cargo. The bed is wide enough to accommodate a Euro pallet, and Ford offers a range of accessories for customization. Our test car featured a spray-in bed liner and a powered shutter for added convenience.

The Ranger’s multimedia system is powered by Ford’s Sync 4 software, displayed on a large portrait touchscreen. While the screen’s position may not be ideal for all drivers, it provides easy access to navigation, media, and other features while on the move.

Overall, the Ford Ranger offers a blend of luxury and practicality in a rugged package. Whether you choose the Wildtrak for its premium interior or a lower trim for its durability, the Ranger is a versatile and capable pick-up truck that can handle any task with ease.
