Ford Performance is gearing up for the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and this year they are bringing a “Super” version of the all-electric Mustang Mach-E. The event, known as the “Race to the Clouds,” has been a tradition for over a century, showcasing the capabilities of electric vehicles in the challenging mountain terrain.
Last year, automakers like Rivian, Hyundai, and Ford Performance made headlines with their impressive performances at Pikes Peak. Ford’s “F-150 Supertruck” even claimed the title of the fastest climb of the day. This year, Ford Performance is back with their third all-electric demonstrator, the Super Mustang Mach-E, aiming to defend their title at Pikes Peak.
Initially teased with a sheeted vehicle in January, Ford Performance has now unveiled the Super Mustang Mach-E, which will take on the treacherous climb at Pikes Peak. The vehicle features a sleek design with a massive spoiler and a glowing front emblem, embodying the spirit of the iconic Mustang Mach-E.
The Super Mustang Mach-E will be driven by veteran French racer Romain Dumas, who has a successful track record in endurance racing events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Dumas, who has been part of Ford Performance since 2022, has already secured two Hill Climb victories with the American automaker.
With Dumas behind the wheel and Ford Performance’s track record at Pikes Peak, the team is poised for success. The 103rd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is scheduled for June 22, 2025, where the Super Mustang Mach-E will attempt to secure a third consecutive victory for Ford Performance.
Stay tuned for updates on this exciting event, as Ford Performance and Romain Dumas aim to make history once again at the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
