Foxconn Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Henan Government to Build New Business Headquarters in Zhengzhou

Under the agreement, the Henan government will provide support to Foxconn in establishing a new business headquarters in Zhengzhou, the capital city of the province. Foxconn, utilizing its expertise in smart manufacturing and global technological resources, aims to drive the development of electric vehicles, energy storage batteries, digital health, and robotics industries in Henan. The objective is to create a high-end manufacturing industrial chain and an ecosystem for strategic emerging industries on a global scale.

Foxconn will invest in the construction of a new headquarters building in Zhengzhou, with the first phase of the project planned for the Zhengdong New Area. Covering approximately 700,000 square meters, the total investment for this phase is estimated to be around 1 billion yuan. The headquarters will house key centers including the headquarters management center, R&D and engineering center, strategic industry development center, strategic industry financial platform, industry research institute and key talent center, marketing center, and supply chain management center.

The strategic collaboration will focus on Foxconn’s “3+3” strategy, which emphasizes the development of three emerging industries—electric vehicles, digital health, and robotics—and three new technology fields—artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and next-generation mobile communications. The partnership will cover development planning, core technology research, industrial investment and management, project incubation, market expansion, talent acquisition and training, and the establishment of an industrial ecosystem. Key projects such as an electric vehicle prototyping center and solid-state battery initiatives will be prominently featured in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone.

The NEV prototyping center will showcase a high-end demonstration NEV production line, providing manufacturing services to renowned automotive brands globally. It aims to become a leading factory in the vehicle sector, paving the way for mass production of new energy vehicles and positioning Zhengzhou as Foxconn’s core production base for NEVs.

Additionally, Foxconn will focus on developing the solid-state battery business within the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, with a specific focus on the R&D and manufacturing of solid electrolytes, semi-solid, and all-solid-state battery cells.
