Gu Huinan, the general manager of GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., recently announced in an interview on November 6 that Aion will be unveiling two new models at the upcoming Guangzhou Auto Show, which is set to open on November 15. The two new models are named the Aion UT and the Hyptec HL. Additionally, Aion will be joining the ranks of former EV-only brands by introducing a range-extender model next year.

The Aion UT, previously known by the internal codename AY2, is a compact hatchback that is designed to be a global model. It is expected to be launched in Europe in 2025 as part of Aion’s expansion into international markets. The Aion UT features a sleek design with short overhangs at the front and back. The front of the car is largely enclosed, with semi-concealed door handles for improved aerodynamics. The car is anticipated to be slightly larger than the BYD Dolphin, positioning it as a competitor in the market.

On the other hand, the Hyptec HL, previously known as AH8, is a mid-sized SUV with a 2+2+2 seating configuration. The car is shrouded in disruptive camouflage, hinting at its innovative design features. The interior of the Hyptec HL is expected to mirror that of the Hyptec HT, with a floating infotainment unit, setback instrument display, and a modern steering wheel design. The car will also boast the ADIGO 6.0 intelligent cockpit system, integrating AI technology with cloud connectivity for a seamless driving experience.

The Hyptec HL is equipped with air suspension and is built on the same 800V platform as the Hyptec HT, enabling 5C charging capabilities. Both single and dual-motor versions of the Hyptec HL are expected to be available to cater to different customer preferences.

As for Aion’s upcoming EREV model, details are scarce at the moment. However, it is speculated that the EREV model will be introduced in 2025 and could potentially be a hybrid version of one of Aion’s existing models.

Overall, Aion’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the electric vehicle market is evident through the introduction of these new models. Stay tuned for more updates on Aion’s exciting lineup of electric vehicles.
