Beijing (Gasgoo)- During the ChinaJoy 2024 convention on July 26, Liao Qinghong, the Chief Operating Officer of DreamSmart Group, which is associated with Geely (formerly known as Xingji Meizu), made an exciting announcement. The company’s first car is set to be launched and delivered to consumers by the end of this year.
In November 2023, DreamSmart Group revealed its plans to kick off the DreamCar co-creation initiative in the first quarter of 2024. The goal is to develop a unique MEIZU DreamCar MX model tailored for Meizu smartphone users, marking a significant milestone as potentially the first mass-produced car with extensive user customization involvement.

Customers will have the opportunity to customize various aspects of the vehicle, including the exterior paint, interior color scheme, and Flyme Auto themes. The car will be developed utilizing Geely’s cutting-edge design and manufacturing platform.
Back in May, a teaser of the Meizu MX model surfaced on the Meizu Flyme Auto website, hinting at the integration of the advanced Flyme Auto intelligent vehicle system in this car model.
Notably, DreamSmart launched the Flyme Auto Intelligent Open Platform last year to share the core capabilities of Flyme Auto with ecosystem partners. This platform empowers car manufacturers to integrate modular capabilities flexibly to enhance the smart cockpit experience based on their specific requirements.
During a recent media briefing in June, Peng Fan, Vice President of DreamSmart, announced the upcoming launch of the Flyme Auto Intelligent Open Platform 2.0 by the year’s end. This upgraded platform will enable automakers to swiftly develop a smart cockpit OS with their unique brand style and make real-time adjustments using an online editor and preview function. Additionally, Peng Fan disclosed that the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit solution, developed in collaboration with ECARX, is gaining traction among more automotive brands, with multiple projects already in progress.
With smartphone companies like Huawei and Xiaomi making their mark in the automotive industry, DreamSmart, supported by Geely, is now poised to enter the market with its own branded vehicles. It remains to be seen if DreamSmart can replicate Xiaomi’s success in this new venture.
