Geely Automobile scores 21% YoY jump in Aug. 2024 vehicle sales

Geely Automobile Sees 21% YoY Jump in August 2024 Vehicle Sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) announced that the Group sold a total of 181,229 vehicles in the month of August 2024, representing a year-on-year jump of 21%.

Geely’s sales were driven by a surge in new energy vehicle sales, which accounted for 75,484 units in August, up 65% year-on-year. The sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) saw significant increases, with BEVs up 56% and PHEVs up 82% compared to the same period last year.

The Group also saw a substantial increase in exports, with 45,045 vehicles shipped out in August, marking a 98% jump from the previous year.

Year-to-date sales for Geely Automobile show a 34% increase over the previous year, with a total of 1,287,741 units sold. The new energy vehicle sector saw a sales volume of 454,720 units, up 97% year-on-year. Exports for the year reached 274,855 units, a 71% increase from the same period last year.

Breaking down the August sales by brand and product range, Geely sold 140,686 vehicles under its own brand, a 19% increase from the previous year. The brand’s new energy vehicle range, Galaxy, saw a significant increase of 138% with 26,510 units sold. ZEEKR and Lynk & Co brands also saw year-on-year increases of 46% and 20%, respectively.
