Geely Auto’s sub-brand Geely Galaxy is gearing up for the official launch of the A7 hybrid sedan next month by introducing two new lower-priced variants. The starting price for the A7 has been reduced to RMB 97,800 ($13,620), making it more competitive in the market. Deutsche Bank is expecting monthly sales of the A7 to exceed 10,000 units, putting it in direct competition with the BYD Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i.
The two new variants of the Geely Galaxy A7 come with different battery ranges – 70 kilometers and 150 kilometers, with pre-sales starting prices of RMB 97,800 and RMB 113,800 respectively. This price reduction of RMB 6,000 compared to the previous models makes the A7 even more attractive to potential buyers.
The new variants are equipped with basic driver-assistance systems, while the previously announced models feature the advanced G-Pilot smart driving system. The specifications show that the new variants have removed the in-car facial recognition function and reduced the number of cameras and radar sensors.
The Geely Galaxy A7 is the first plug-in hybrid sedan built on Geely’s GEA architecture, offering dimensions of 4,918 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm. The battery pack options include an 8.5 kWh battery from CALB and an 18.4 kWh battery from CALT, providing ranges of 70 km and 150 km respectively. When fully fueled and charged, the A7 can reach a combined range of up to 2,100 kilometers.
The official launch date for the Geely Galaxy A7 is set for August, and the brand’s public relations director has confirmed that the first batch of vehicles for test drives has been shipped out. The A7 is expected to have a final official starting price of around RMB 90,000, making it competitive with its direct competitors in the market.
In conclusion, the Geely Galaxy A7 is making waves in the hybrid sedan market with its new lower-priced variants and competitive features. With strong sales projections and a focus on advanced technology, the A7 is set to be a key player in the segment.
