Geely Galaxy has recently unveiled its highly anticipated Starshine 6 hybrid sedan, hinting at an imminent launch of the sleek new model. The sub-brand of Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) took to Weibo to release the first official images of the Starshine 6, describing it as a vehicle “born to be disruptive.”

While specific details about the Starshine 6 remain scarce, industry experts predict that the pricing will be set below the discounted starting price of RMB 115,800 ($16,190) for the Starshine 8 hybrid sedan, which made its debut back in May. The Starshine 6 is expected to offer a more budget-friendly option for consumers looking to experience Geely Galaxy’s innovative technology and design.

According to a previous regulatory filing, the Starshine 6 boasts dimensions of 4,806 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase stretching 2,756 mm. Powering the model is a 1.5L engine capable of delivering 82 kW of maximum power, enabling a top speed of 180 km/h.

The Starshine 6 utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries sourced from reputable Chinese battery manufacturers CALB and Rept Battero Energy, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This environmentally friendly power source aligns with Geely Galaxy’s commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions.

As part of its aggressive expansion strategy, Geely Galaxy has been introducing a series of new models to cater to the evolving needs of consumers. In recent months, the brand has launched the updated E5 electric SUV and the A7 hybrid sedan, showcasing its dedication to innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Furthermore, pre-sales for the M9 hybrid SUV commenced on August 23, with prices starting at an affordable RMB 193,800. This move positions the M9 as one of the most competitively priced large SUVs in the Chinese market, appealing to a wide range of potential buyers.

Originally introduced as a new product lineup in February 2023, Geely Galaxy was elevated to a standalone brand in March of this year, signaling its rapid growth and increasing market presence. The brand has achieved remarkable success, selling 643,451 vehicles in the first seven months of the year, representing an impressive 253.77 percent year-on-year increase.

With the launch of the Starshine 6 on the horizon, Geely Galaxy continues to push boundaries and set new standards in the automotive industry. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking hybrid sedan that promises to revolutionize the driving experience for discerning customers.
