Geely Automobile’s logistics arm, JISU Logistics, recently made a significant milestone by launching its first self-operated roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel, JISU FORTUNE. The naming and maiden voyage ceremony took place on May 22 at Haitong Terminal in Suzhou Port’s Taicang port area, as reported by the official WeChat account of Taicang government.

This 18,000-tonne ship, with a capacity of 7,000 vehicle spaces, is set to depart with over 5,000 Chinese-made cars destined for various European countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, and Belgium. This marks a new chapter for JISU Logistics as they venture into operating their own RoRo vessel for the first time.

JISU FORTUNE, measuring 199.9 meters in length and 38 meters in beam, features 12 decks that can accommodate both internal combustion engine vehicles and those powered by lithium batteries. Notably, four of the decks are adjustable to cater to different vehicle sizes, while the 11th and 12th decks are specifically designed for new energy vehicles utilizing hydrogen or natural gas.

One of the standout features of this vessel is its eco-friendly design, with a focus on reducing emissions. Equipped with two 2,000-cubic-meter C-type LNG storage tanks, JISU FORTUNE primarily runs on liquefied natural gas (LNG), significantly lowering nitrogen and sulfur oxide emissions. This aligns with Geely’s commitment to green logistics and sustainability in its operations.

As a subsidiary of Geely, JISU Logistics plays a crucial role in the company’s comprehensive logistics network, spanning pre-production, production, and post-production phases across domestic and international operations. Geely has been utilizing Taicang Port as a key export hub for vehicles from various regions to Europe and the Middle East, further solidifying its presence in the global automotive market.

Geely’s international performance has been on an upward trajectory, with the company exporting 24,133 vehicles in April 2025 alone, totaling 114,086 units from January to April. The introduction of JISU FORTUNE is expected to bolster Geely’s international sales and enhance its global logistics capabilities, paving the way for continued growth and success in the overseas market.

Stay tuned for more updates on Geely’s innovative initiatives and advancements in the automotive industry.
