Geely has officially launched the Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i on December 6th, offering a range of models priced between 103,800 to 136,800 yuan. However, there is a limited-time offer available, with prices ranging from 99,800 to 132,800 yuan. The Starship 7 EM-i is a plug-in hybrid compact SUV that is built on the GEA pure electric exclusive architecture. It is the first vehicle to be equipped with the Raytheon EM-i super electric hybrid system, which includes a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The car boasts a CLTC pure electric range of up to 120km.

The front of the new car showcases a closed-off grille design, replacing the previous pulsating grille for a more streamlined appearance. The distinctive through-type LED daytime running lights remain, while the sharp headlights on either side contribute to the vehicle’s dynamic and energetic look. The X-shaped design created by the fog lamp area adds a sporty touch to the overall aesthetics.

Moving to the side profile, the Starship 7 EM-i features a tough skirt line and shoulder line design, exuding a sense of strength. With dimensions measuring 4740mm in length, 1905mm in width, and 1685mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2755mm, the car offers a spacious interior. Notably, it boasts a drag coefficient of 0.288. At the rear, the through-type taillight design enhances visibility when lit, while the hidden exhaust layout adds a touch of simplicity to the overall rear design.

Inside, the new car offers two color options: Autumn Rhyme Brown and Reflecting Snow White. The interior is equipped with a 14.6-inch central touchscreen powered by the Flyme Auto in-car system. Additional features include a fully digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 540-degree transparent view of the undercarriage, 50W wireless charging pad, 16-speaker audio system, luxurious cotton candy SPA seats, and advanced L2-level driver assistance systems. Geely has announced that all Galaxy models will come with the Flyme Auto system, with a free upgrade available for all Geely Galaxy vehicles in the first quarter of the following year.

Powering the Starship 7 EM-i is the latest Raytheon EM-i super electric hybrid technology, which includes a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, P1 motor, P3 motor, and single-speed DHT transmission. The car also features a Shenxun short blade battery, SiC stepless boost module, TMS thermal management system, and G-TCS active anti-skid system. With a maximum power of 82kW for the engine and 160kW for the motor, the car offers a pure electric range of 55km to 120km, a CLTC fuel consumption of 3.75L/100km, and a maximum comprehensive range of 1420km.

In comparison to the Geely Galaxy L7, which is built on the e-CMA architecture, the Starship 7 EM-i boasts a more economical fuel consumption with its Raytheon EM-i super electric hybrid system. The Galaxy L7, on the other hand, offers superior performance with its 1.5T engine + P1 + P2 motor + 3-speed DHT transmission setup. With its innovative design, advanced technology, and efficient hybrid powertrain, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i sets a new standard for plug-in hybrid compact SUVs.
