Genesis is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated flagship electric SUV, the GV90. With less camouflage spotted ahead of its debut, the luxurious vehicle is already turning heads with its stunning design. The Genesis GV90, inspired by Korea’s iconic moon-shaped porcelain jars, is a vision of “ultra-luxe” luxury SUVs.
Last March, the Neolun concept gave us a preview of what to expect from the GV90. The concept, designed by Genesis’ creative officer Luc Donckerwolke, embodies timeless design and sophisticated craftsmanship. It is set to be a tech beacon for Genesis, featuring Hyundai Motor’s most advanced software and technology, including a massive 24.6″ infotainment system.
One of the standout features of the GV90 is its coach doors, a design element that has garnered significant attention. Recent sightings of the GV90 during testing have revealed the presence of coach doors, hinting that they may be available on higher-priced trims of the production model.
Most recently, the GV90 was captured testing at the Nürburgring with significantly less camouflage. The new images give us a clearer look at the flagship electric SUV, showcasing its two-line LED headlamps and minimalist design. With an extended wheelbase, the GV90 stands out in terms of size compared to other Genesis EVs like the GV60 and Electrified GV70.
Set to be the first Hyundai Motor model built on the new eM platform, the GV90 represents a shift in the brand’s EV lineup. While production was initially scheduled to begin later this year, a recent report suggests that it will now commence in June 2026. Prices for the GV90 are expected to start at around $80,000 in Korea, with premium trims potentially exceeding $160,000.
As we eagerly await the official launch of the Genesis GV90, the anticipation continues to grow as more details emerge about this luxurious and technologically advanced electric SUV. Stay tuned for further updates as Genesis prepares to redefine the luxury SUV segment with the GV90.
