Great Wall Motor Announces Integration of HAVAL and ORA Brands

Shanghai (Gasgoo) – Mr. Zhao Yongpo, General Manager of the HAVAL brand under Great Wall Motor (GWM), made a significant announcement on February 8. He revealed that he will also be taking on the management of the ORA brand, marking the official integration of the two brands.

Mr. Zhao shared that he is familiar with ORA brand’s products as he was previously involved in the development, design, and technical support of each ORA vehicle model. He expressed his dedication to utilizing his technical expertise to contribute to the growth of the ORA brand.

This move is part of the reorganization of GWM’s brand structure. In October 2024, the ORA brand saw its sales and after-sales channels merging with other brands under GWM. Some models, like the ORA Good Cat, are already being sold at HAVAL’s stores. Additionally, in December 2024, all of ORA app’s services were integrated into the GWM app. The goal of this integration is to streamline resources, enhance operational efficiency, and propel ORA’s development through leveraging HAVAL’s established channels and organizational structure.

In terms of sales performance, GWM reported a total of 80,933 vehicles sold in January 2025, marking a 22.2% year-over-year decline. Out of these, 22,263 units were new energy vehicles. The company also recorded a sales volume of 28,016 vehicles for its overseas business, representing a 6.23% year-on-year growth.

Breaking down the sales performance by brands, WEY achieved sales of 5,007 vehicles, up 49.42% year-on-year. HAVAL sold 48,557 units in January, a decrease of 17.84% compared to the previous year. ORA, on the other hand, experienced a significant decline with sales of 2,193 units, marking a 63.46% year-on-year drop.
