Great Wall Motor (GWM) achieved significant growth in vehicle sales in Brazil in 2024, with a total of 29,218 vehicles sold, marking a 154% increase compared to the previous year. This impressive growth can be attributed to the popularity of models such as the Haval H6 and Ora 03.

The Haval H6 PHEV and Haval H6 HEV received accolades in Brazil, winning the “Best Hybrid Model Award of 2024” and the “Lowest Hybrid Model Cost Award,” respectively. GWM Brazil took home a total of 23 awards in 2024, with the Haval H6 clinching 12 awards and becoming the most awarded hybrid car in Brazil.

In a broader context, GWM’s overseas sales reached 453,100 vehicles in 2024, representing a 43.4% year-on-year increase. This accounted for 46.7% of the company’s total annual sales of 1.2333 million vehicles, with sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reaching 322,000 units, a 22.82% year-on-year increase.

The number of registered vehicles in Brazil also saw a significant uptick in 2024, reaching 2.63 million units, a 14.1% increase from the previous year. Car rental companies remained a dominant force in the market, purchasing a total of 650,000 vehicles, with BYD and GWM jointly registering around 100,000 vehicles.

Looking ahead, GWM is set to expand its sales network in Brazil, with plans to start production and introduce new models at its Iracemápolis plant in 2025. This move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for NEVs in the Brazilian market.

Since 2022, GWM has been strategically positioning itself in the Brazilian NEV market, outlining a core market strategy that involves investing over 10 billion Brazilian Reais (approximately 1.6 billion USD) in the next decade to focus on electrification and intelligence.

In terms of product offerings, GWM is gearing up to launch more than 10 NEV models in Brazil under the Haval, Tank, and Ora brands.

Overall, GWM’s success in Brazil underscores its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and growth in the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
