Great Wall Motor (GWM) continues to show strong performance in the electric vehicle (EV) market, with the company reporting impressive sales figures for the month of July. According to data released by GWM, the company sold a total of 104,372 vehicles in July, marking a 14.34 percent increase compared to the same period last year. However, there was a slight decrease of 5.71 percent from the previous month.
Notably, GWM’s sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) saw a significant uptick in July, with 34,593 units sold. This represents a substantial 43.27 percent year-on-year increase, although there was a minor drop of 4.98 percent from the previous month. NEVs accounted for 33.14 percent of GWM’s total vehicle sales in July, setting a new record for the company.
In addition to its domestic sales, GWM also saw positive growth in its overseas markets. The company sold 41,088 vehicles overseas in July, reflecting a 7.60 percent year-on-year increase and a 2.55 percent increase from June.
Breaking down the sales figures by brand, the Haval brand led the way with 56,221 vehicles sold in July, accounting for 53.87 percent of GWM’s monthly sales. The Tank brand followed with 20,020 vehicles sold, representing 19.18 percent of total sales. Wey sold 10,045 vehicles (9.62 percent), while the Ora brand sold 4,300 vehicles (4.12 percent).
Looking at the cumulative sales for the first seven months of the year, GWM has sold a total of 674,161 vehicles, marking a 3.57 percent year-on-year increase. NEV sales have been particularly strong, with 195,007 units sold during this period, reflecting a 24.59 percent year-on-year growth. Overseas sales for the January-July period totaled 238,746 units, showing a slight decline of 0.39 percent year-on-year.
Overall, GWM’s performance in the EV market remains robust, with a strong focus on NEVs driving growth both domestically and internationally. The company’s diverse brand portfolio continues to attract customers, solidifying its position as a key player in the global automotive industry.
