Hesai Technology, a leading Chinese Lidar producer, made waves at the CES 2025 show in Las Vegas by unveiling two groundbreaking next-generation ADAS Lidar units. The AT1440, touted as the world’s first 1440-channel automotive-grade Lidar, offers an unprecedented level of resolution, boasting 30 times higher resolution than current mainstream automotive Lidars. This high resolution enables the AT1440 to capture details with 3D precision, thanks to its impressive angular resolution of 0.02°.

Equipped with Hesai’s latest Gen 4 proprietary technology platform, the AT1440 leverages advanced high-efficiency photodetection and ultra-high parallel processing technologies. The company claims that this Lidar unit is a game-changer for autonomous driving, setting a new standard for Lidar performance. While specifics on the practical implications of this advancement were not detailed, it is clear that the AT1440 represents a significant leap forward in Lidar technology.

In addition to the AT1440, Hesai also introduced the FTX solid-state Lidar, designed for both ADAS-equipped cars and robotic applications. This unit boasts the world’s widest field of view for an automotive-grade solid-state Lidar, with a maximum FOV of 180° x 140°. Utilizing fully solid-state electronic scanning technology, the FTX Lidar offers a range of 30 meters with 10% reflectivity and a point rate of 492,000 points per second – 2.5 times higher than its predecessor.

The FTX Lidar’s high-definition blind spot scanning capabilities allow it to capture objects such as pedestrians and electric scooters in great detail, making it a valuable tool for enhancing safety in autonomous driving systems. This Lidar unit serves as a blind spot correction unit, providing panoramic perception for L3 and L4 autonomous driving applications.

Notably, Hesai achieved a significant milestone in December 2024 by becoming the world’s first Lidar producer to deliver 100,000 units in a month. With production capacity expected to exceed two million units in 2025, Hesai is poised to continue driving innovation in the automotive industry.

Overall, Hesai’s latest Lidar offerings demonstrate the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and advancing the capabilities of autonomous driving systems. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Hesai remains at the forefront of innovation, shaping the future of transportation with cutting-edge Lidar solutions.
