Hesai, a leading Chinese LiDAR manufacturer, recently made waves at the Consumer Electronics Show 2025 (CES 2025) with the unveiling of two groundbreaking LiDAR products. The company introduced the AT1440, touted as the world’s highest-channel automotive LiDAR, and the next-generation solid-state FTX LiDAR, which boasts the largest field of view for an automotive-grade solid-state LiDAR.

The AT1440 is powered by Hesai’s latest fourth-generation proprietary technology platform, incorporating high-efficiency photodetection and ultra-high parallel processing. With an angular resolution of 0.02°, the AT1440 delivers ultra-high-definition image-level point clouds, offering over 30 times higher resolution than mainstream automotive LiDARs. This level of precision allows the AT1440 to capture every detail with 3D precision, making it a gamechanger for autonomous driving applications.

In a bid to stay ahead in the LiDAR race, Hesai unveiled the FTX LiDAR, a next-generation solid-state LiDAR designed for ADAS-equipped passenger cars and robotics applications. The FTX features all-solid-state electronic scanning technology and boasts a maximum field of view of 180°x140°, making it the LiDAR with the largest field of view in the world for automotive-grade solid-state LiDARs. With a detection range of up to 30 meters and a point rate of 492,000 points per second, the FTX offers improved performance over its predecessor, catering to the needs of L3 and L4 autonomous driving systems.

Additionally, Hesai introduced the mini 3D LiDAR JT Series, designed as a robotics LiDAR with the world’s widest field of view. The JT Series offers a detection range of up to 60 meters and features a compact design with a bottom diameter of just 55 mm, making it ideal for robotics applications requiring a wide field of view.

Hesai’s latest LiDAR offerings come hot on the heels of RoboSense’s announcement of the EM4 LiDAR with up to 1,080 channels, signaling a new era of innovation and competition in the LiDAR industry. Both companies are key players in the Chinese LiDAR market, with Hesai reporting impressive delivery numbers in 2024 and RoboSense experiencing significant growth in LiDAR sales.

As LiDAR technology continues to evolve and advance, companies like Hesai and RoboSense are pushing the boundaries of what is possible, paving the way for safer and more efficient autonomous driving systems. With their latest offerings, Hesai is solidifying its position as a leader in the LiDAR industry, setting new standards for performance and innovation in automotive LiDAR technology.
