Monolith and HORIBA MIRA have joined forces to provide a cutting-edge technical solution for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers involved in battery and powertrain development. This collaboration aims to enhance the development process for existing customers of both companies and attract new OEM vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 battery suppliers seeking to optimize their development processes.

One of the key aspects of this partnership is the access Monolith gains to HORIBA MIRA’s in-house R&D battery test data. This data will be used to train and improve Monolith’s Anomaly Detector (AD) and Next Test Recommender (NTR) algorithms, showcasing the power of technology at scale. On the other hand, HORIBA MIRA’s advanced cloud-based data-driven solutions will integrate Monolith’s tools to enhance its current offerings. By combining their expertise, the two companies aim to reduce the need for expensive prototype vehicles and accelerate the development of optimized calibrations for batteries and powertrains.

Dr. Richard Ahlfeld, CEO and Founder of Monolith, expressed his excitement about the partnership, highlighting the potential of combining physical and AI-driven test processes to accelerate battery development and testing. Guy Foulger, Engineering & Technology Director at HORIBA MIRA, emphasized the importance of partnerships that enhance both physical and virtual engineering capabilities, supporting customers with robust tools for virtual development.

Monolith’s AI platform, which uses machine-learning software and no-code technology, aims to democratize AI for engineering. By leveraging existing testing datasets and generating accurate predictions, the platform enables engineering teams to reduce costly and time-intensive prototype testing programs. With innovative tools like the Next Test Recommender and Anomaly Detector, Monolith provides engineers with intelligent solutions to develop higher-quality products in less time.
