Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC) are set to launch Maextro, their new automotive brand, targeting the luxury executive sedan market. The first model, Maextro S800, is expected to rival top players in the segment such as Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8, and Nio ET9.
The unveiling of the Maextro S800 will take place at an event showcasing Huawei’s Mate series of smartphones on November 26. This marks the debut of Maextro as the fourth brand under Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) umbrella, joining Stelato, Aito, and Luxeed.
With a length of around 5.5 meters, the Maextro S800 is positioned as a standout in terms of size and luxury. Richard Yu, Huawei’s managing director, highlighted the sedan’s impressive exterior design and spacious interior in a recent Weibo video.
In comparison, the Nio ET9, a key competitor in the luxury electric sedan market, measures 5,325 mm in length, 2,017 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height. The Maextro S800 is expected to offer similar luxury features but with its own unique design and technology.
Pricing details for the Maextro S800 have not been disclosed yet, but the Nio ET9 is priced at RMB 800,000 ($110,410) for pre-sale. The collaboration between JAC and Huawei aims to develop luxury smart electric vehicles that cater to the high standards and expectations of consumers.
JAC, originally Nio’s manufacturing partner, has now joined forces with Huawei to create innovative and technologically advanced vehicles. This partnership signifies a new era in luxury automotive design and manufacturing, combining Huawei’s expertise in smart car solutions with JAC’s manufacturing capabilities.
As the luxury executive sedan market continues to evolve, the Maextro S800 is poised to make a significant impact with its blend of luxury, technology, and performance. Stay tuned for more updates on the unveiling of this highly anticipated model.
