Hyundai has recently launched a new Electric Vehicle (EV) grant program in the UK, offering substantial discounts on their popular EV models. The program provides up to £3,750 ($5,000) off on vehicles such as the Inster EV, IONIQ 5, and the new IONIQ 9. This initiative is part of Hyundai’s efforts to promote electric vehicles and make them more accessible to consumers.

The EV grant program is now available for all Hyundai electric vehicles in the UK, starting from July 25. Customers can enjoy savings of £3,750 on the 2025 Inster, which is the brand’s new entry-level electric SUV. Additionally, there are £1,500 in savings on models like the IONIQ 5, Kona Electric, and IONIQ 9.

Ashley Andrew, the president of Hyundai and Genesis UK, emphasized the importance of providing clarity, choice, and value to customers as they transition to electric vehicles. The grant is applicable for purchases through Hyundai’s UK dealer network, including retail, Hyundai Affinity, or Contract Hire options.

To further incentivize customers, Hyundai is offering an extra £500 discount on the Inster EV and Kona Electric through their Electrifying Summer promo until August 31. The company is also providing 24-hour test drives to allow potential buyers to experience the vehicles before making a decision.

In addition to the UK market, Hyundai is extending similar offers in various markets worldwide, including the US. The company has introduced aggressive sales promotions, such as 0% interest for 60 months on their top-selling SUVs, to make electric vehicles more appealing to consumers.

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5, known for its impressive range of up to 318 miles and compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, is available for lease at just $179 per month. Both the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 are manufactured at Hyundai’s new EV plant in Georgia, making them eligible for the $7,500 US tax credit. However, this tax credit is set to expire at the end of September.
