Hyundai Motor Group has recently announced the establishment of the Hyundai Motor Group Global Design Division, a move aimed at leading the design of all-electric vehicles and future mobility solutions. This includes purpose-built vehicles (PBVs), robotics, and advanced air mobility (AAM).
Heading the Global Design Division is Luc Donckerwolke, who will serve as both the Chief Design Officer (CDO) and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) for Hyundai Motor Group. In his role, Mr. Donckerwolke will oversee all design aspects for the Group’s brands, including future mobility, AAM, and Robotics. He expressed confidence in the new organization’s ability to drive the future of the global mobility industry.
The newly formed Global Design Division will incorporate the Hyundai & Genesis Global Design Technical Unit. Additionally, a new Genesis Design Center has been established under the Hyundai & Genesis Global Design Technical Unit. This move allows each mobility brand within the Group – Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis – to develop and maintain its distinct design ethos.
The restructuring of the design organization reflects Hyundai Motor Group’s commitment to innovation and leadership in the rapidly evolving mobility landscape. By consolidating design expertise and resources under one division, the Group aims to streamline design processes, foster creativity, and deliver cutting-edge solutions for future mobility.
