IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of SAIC Motor Corp, has recently unveiled the updated version of its popular IM L6 electric sedan. The entry-level variant of the updated IM L6 will maintain its original starting price, while the higher-end versions will see a reduction in price. This move is aimed at making the model more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

The updated IM L6 will be available in four different variants: Max, Max+, Pro Max, and Ultra, with official guide prices ranging from RMB 219,900 to RMB 279,900. However, IM Motors is offering limited-time discounts on these models, bringing the starting prices down to RMB 204,900, RMB 219,900, RMB 239,900, and RMB 264,900, respectively.

The deliveries of the updated IM L6 are set to begin on May 19, according to the company. The model is a mid-to-large-size sedan with dimensions of 4,937 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

One of the key highlights of the updated IM L6 is its use of an 800-volt high-voltage platform across all variants. This represents an upgrade from its predecessor, which was built on a conventional 400-volt platform. The model is available in three single-motor rear-wheel drive versions and a dual-motor four-wheel drive version.

The powertrain options for the updated IM L6 include motors with peak power ranging from 245 kW to 579 kW, with acceleration times from 0 to 100 km/h varying from 2.74 seconds to 5.9 seconds. The model is equipped with different battery options, including lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium ternary batteries, offering CLTC ranges from 690 km to 850 km.

One of the standout features of the updated IM L6 is its fast charging capability, with the model able to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 16.8 seconds. This makes it a convenient option for users who are always on the go.

Overall, the updated IM L6 offers a compelling combination of performance, range, and pricing, making it a competitive option in the electric sedan market. With its updated features and attractive pricing, the IM L6 is set to make a strong impression in the EV segment.
