Infineon Technologies has partnered with EVE Energy to advance the development of next-generation battery management systems for the automotive sector. The collaboration aims to deliver comprehensive solutions that enhance the safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency of electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
As per the memorandum of understanding (MoU), Infineon will supply EVE Energy with a complete chipset, including microcontrollers, balancing and monitoring ICs, power management ICs, drivers, MOSFETs, controller area networks, and sensor products. By integrating these components, EVE Energy’s battery management system is expected to achieve higher standards of safety and reliability.
Andreas Doll, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Infineon Smart Power, expressed that the partnership between Infineon’s advanced battery management ICs and EVE Energy’s battery technologies will pave the way for intelligent battery packs in the next generation of electric vehicles. He highlighted the need for advanced battery solutions driven by the rapid growth in electrification and emphasized that the cooperation between the two companies will lead to collaborative development at various levels.
EVE Energy’s Co-founder and President, Liu Jianhua, emphasized the company’s commitment to continued growth in the field of battery management systems. The partnership with Infineon is seen as a valuable opportunity to introduce more advanced solutions to the market, meeting customer needs and driving the development of reliable and efficient systems.
In a related development, Infineon recently introduced the MOTIX TLE9189 gate driver IC designed for safety-critical applications with 12V brushless DC (BLDC) motors. This new three-phase gate driver IC aims to meet the increasing demand for motor control ICs required for by-wire solutions in the automotive industry.
