Jetour, a prestigious SUV and crossover vehicle brand owned by Chinese automaker Chery Holding Group, has expanded its presence into overseas markets with the commencement of vehicle assembly in Indonesia. The company has begun assembling its Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus SUVs for the Indonesian market at a plant in Bekasi, near Jakarta, in collaboration with local partner PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM).
The local distributor, PT Jetour Motor Indonesia (JMI), imports knocked-down kits from China for assembly in Indonesia. These vehicles are set to be available for sale in the local market starting November. HIM, in addition to Jetour vehicles, also assembles internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from kits supplied by Chery Automobile, including models like Tiggo, Omoda, and Neta BEVs.
A ceremony was held at the Bekasi assembly plant to mark the launch of local production, where JMI’s CEO, Jacky Yang, expressed the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products to Indonesian consumers. Yang stated, “We are confident that the Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus will be well-received by Indonesian consumers.”
Jetour’s expansion into the Indonesian market signifies its strategic approach to cater to the growing demand for SUVs and crossover vehicles in the region. By establishing local production and distribution channels, the company aims to strengthen its foothold in the Indonesian automotive industry.
In conclusion, Jetour’s foray into Indonesia’s automotive market is a significant milestone for the brand as it continues to expand its global presence. With a focus on delivering high-quality vehicles tailored to meet the needs of Indonesian consumers, Jetour is poised for success in this competitive market segment.
