Kia’s upcoming EV4 GT is set to take on the Tesla Model 3 Performance, offering a high-performance electric sports car at a more affordable price point. With a sleek design and impressive features, the EV4 GT is generating buzz ahead of its debut in the US market.

The EV4 has already made waves in Korea, where it quickly became the best-selling domestic electric sedan in just its second month on the market. Priced at around $30,000 in Korea, the entry-level EV4 is expected to start at $35,000 to $40,000 in the US and Europe, making it a compelling option for electric car enthusiasts.

A recent video from KindelAuto gives us a closer look at the Kia EV4 GT being tested on US streets for the first time. The video showcases key design elements such as Kia’s vertical LED headlights and signature Star Map lighting, as well as the distinctive Tiger Face grille design that aligns with Kia’s latest electric models.

The EV4 GT is expected to feature an AWD dual-motor powertrain, similar to Kia’s other GT vehicles. While final prices and specs are yet to be revealed, the EV4 GT is positioned to offer impressive performance, potentially even surpassing the EV6 GT’s 576 hp and 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 3.4 seconds.

Kia is planning to launch the EV4 in the US later this year with an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 330 miles. The EV4 will also come equipped with a built-in NACS port, allowing for easy recharging at Tesla Superchargers. With the base model priced around $35,000, the high-performance GT variant could cost between $50,000 to $55,000.

In comparison, the Tesla Model 3 Performance starts at $54,990 with an EPA-estimated range of 298 miles and a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. The choice between the Kia EV4 GT and the Tesla Model 3 Performance will ultimately come down to personal preferences and priorities.
