The EV6’s interior has undergone a significant upgrade with the introduction of a new steering wheel design. The previous bulky two-spoke wheel has been replaced with a sleeker three-spoke design, featuring a smaller central boss. The rim size remains the same, maintaining steering input consistency. The controls are conveniently placed on each lateral spoke, similar to the previous layout.

In addition to the new steering wheel, the cabin features updated materials on the roll-top dash, door cards, and seats, as well as new ambient lighting features. Despite these changes, the overall layout and configuration of the EV6’s interior remain largely unchanged. The quality of materials and fit and finish are commendable, creating a welcoming and practical space.

One notable drawback noted by taller testers is a slight lack of headroom in both rows, which may be surprising for a high-riding crossover. However, most testers did not find this to be a significant issue. The EV6 offers ample legroom in both rows and a generous boot space for a vehicle of its size.

The rear seating area provides generous legroom, but the high floor may cause discomfort for taller passengers. Additionally, the battery placement limits under-seat foot space, impacting overall comfort. The boot space is ample, but the high floor restricts loading capacity in some scenarios.

The updated infotainment system is a standout feature of the EV6, offering extended networked navigation, over-the-air software updates, and wireless smartphone mirroring for both Apple and Android devices. The touch-sensitive bar below the main touchscreen console aids in navigating the system efficiently, especially when configured for quick access to CarPlay.

Recent regulatory changes require a thorough pre-flight check to deactivate warning sirens and aids, which may result in occasional reminders during drives. Despite this inconvenience, the system can be easily personalized to suit individual preferences. Additionally, the speed limit warning can now be disabled by holding down the volume button.

Overall, the EV6’s interior updates enhance its appeal, offering a blend of modern technology and practicality. The combination of new design elements and updated features make it a compelling choice for drivers seeking a contemporary and comfortable driving experience.
