Kia Corporation, a South Korean automaker, has recently introduced its newest battery electric vehicle (BEV), the EV5. This SUV is built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and is part of Kia’s expanding lineup of battery-powered vehicles, including the EV3, EV4, EV6, EV9, and the PV5 minibus/van.

The EV5 is described as a “family-oriented” all-electric SUV with a bold exterior design and a spacious minimalist interior. The interior features a panoramic display that integrates a 12.3-inch cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a dedicated 5-inch climate control panel.

Under the hood, the EV5 is powered by a 160 kW electric motor and offers two battery options: a 60 kWh battery for the Base-Line model and an 81 kWh battery for the GT-Line. The Base-Line model has a range of 530 km on a single charge, while the GT model offers a range of 505 km.

The EV5 is set to be released in South Korea and Europe in the second half of 2025, with sales in North America expected to begin in early 2026. Kia’s president and CEO, Ho Sung Song, expressed excitement about the EV5, stating that it represents a significant step in Kia’s transition to electrified mobility. He emphasized the company’s commitment to making sustainable mobility more accessible worldwide.

In addition to the EV5 launch, Kia is reinforcing its presence in key markets and continuing to expand its electric vehicle lineup. The company aims to make EV ownership more practical and appealing to a wider range of drivers.

Overall, the EV5 is a testament to Kia’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry. With its sleek design, impressive range, and advanced features, the EV5 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for the global launch of the EV5 and experience the future of sustainable mobility with Kia.
