Leapmotor, a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker backed by Stellantis NV, continues to break records with its impressive performance in October. The company delivered a total of 38,177 vehicles last month, marking a 109.74 percent increase year-on-year and a 13.06 percent increase from September. This achievement represents the fifth consecutive month of record deliveries for Leapmotor, with three consecutive months of over 30,000 units.
In the first ten months of the year, Leapmotor delivered a total of 211,038 vehicles, reflecting a 97.18 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Since its inception, the company has delivered a total of 516,862 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The strong October deliveries were driven by a surge in new orders, with the company receiving more than 42,000 vehicle orders in a single month, a new record high. Among these orders, over 10,000 were for the C10, C11, and C16 models. Although specific order numbers were not disclosed, founder, chairman, and CEO Zhu Jiangming shared an image on his WeChat status showing 42,491 new orders for the month.
Leapmotor also announced the upcoming domestic debut of its first B-series model, the B10, at the Guangzhou auto show in November. The B10 made its international debut at the Paris auto show on October 14 and is the first globalized model of Leapmotor’s new B platform. With the latest Leap 3.5 technology architecture, the B10 is designed to cater to the smart NEV market for young consumers worldwide. The compact SUV is expected to be priced between RMB 100,000 ($14,050) and RMB 150,000 and will be available for global sale next year.
Founded in 2015, Leapmotor is a pioneer in China’s new car-making industry and has been expanding its presence overseas in collaboration with Stellantis, Europe’s second-largest carmaker. The company currently offers a range of models in China, including the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with most available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions.
In conclusion, Leapmotor’s outstanding performance in October underscores its continued growth and success in the NEV market. With a strong order book, a diverse range of models, and plans for global expansion, the company is poised for further achievements in the future.
