Leapmotor, a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has introduced the hybrid version of the C10 SUV in Europe. This comes after the successful launch of the all-electric variant of the vehicle in the region last September. The company, which is backed by Stellantis NV, showcased its extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) technology at the Brussels auto show in Belgium on January 10, officially marking the launch of the C10 EREV in Europe.

The Leapmotor C10 EREV boasts a combined WLTP range of over 950 kilometers and impressively low COâ‚‚ emissions of just 10g/km. The hybrid vehicle’s battery can be charged through DC charging, AC charging, or via the on-vehicle fuel generator. With a powerful 215-horsepower electric motor delivering a peak torque of 320 Nm, the C10 EREV promises a thrilling driving experience for its users.

Orders for the hybrid variant of the C10 opened in Europe on January 10, with local deliveries set to commence in March. The five-seater SUV was initially launched in China on March 2, 2024, in EREV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions. Since September 2024, Leapmotor has expanded its presence in Europe, establishing over 400 sales outlets in 13 countries, with plans to increase this number to 500 by the end of 2025.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor has quickly become a key player in the Chinese automotive market. The company’s current lineup includes models such as the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with all models (except the T03) offered in both BEV and EREV variants. In 2024, Leapmotor achieved impressive growth, delivering 293,724 vehicles, a 103.76 percent increase over the previous year.

In October 2023, Stellantis made a significant investment of 1.5 billion euros ($1.5 billion) in Leapmotor, securing a stake of approximately 20 percent in the company. This partnership led to the formation of Leapmotor International, a joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Leveraging Stellantis’ extensive distribution channels, Leapmotor aims to expand its presence in international markets.

With a focus on innovation and sustainability, Leapmotor is set to launch several new models overseas in the coming years, with the C10 and T03 leading the way. The company’s commitment to delivering high-quality electric vehicles with impressive performance and range positions it as a key player in the global automotive industry.
