Lexus RZ Review 2025, Price & Specs

Smooth and Quiet-riding Lexus RZ: A Comfortable Drive

Despite not being offered with adaptive dampers, the Lexus RZ is a very smooth and quiet-riding car that provides a reassuring and satisfying driving experience. While it may not be the most exciting to drive, it certainly offers a plush-feeling ride.

The Direct4 system, introduced by Lexus, efficiently shuffles power and braking force between the front and rear axles to reduce pitch and dive during acceleration and braking. This system adds a pleasant calmness to the driving experience, although it may not be transformative.

Although the RZ may feel neutral when cornering under power due to the front motor being more powerful than the rear one, it still offers adequate grip and well-weighted steering. It is important to note that the RZ is not designed to be a sporty car, but rather focuses on comfort and reliability.

The FWD model of the Lexus RZ does not come equipped with the Direct4 system, but it still provides a straightforward ride with comfortable handling and steering. Additionally, the One Motion Grip steer-by-wire system, although still in prototype stage during the European press launch, adds a sense of occasion to the driving experience.

The unique yoke shape of the steering wheel, combined with the limited movement between locks, ensures that drivers do not have to take their hands off the wheel. This system provides slightly more information about grip levels compared to conventional steering, making it a valuable addition to the RZ. Despite the variable steering ratio, which may reduce precision in some situations, it is well-suited for a comfortable SUV like the Lexus RZ.
