Li Auto aims to sell 700,000 cars in 2025, report says

Li Auto, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has set an ambitious sales target of 700,000 vehicles for this year, representing a significant 40 percent increase from the previous year. This target was revealed by local media sources, citing multiple independent insiders within the company.

Despite the overall sales target, Li Auto is taking a more cautious approach with its two new battery electric vehicle (BEV) models, aiming to sell around 50,000 units throughout the year. However, the company has provided higher guidance to its suppliers, indicating a potential demand for over 140,000 BEVs in 2025.

The decision to set a conservative target for BEV sales is a strategic move by Li Auto to secure its supply chain and prevent any potential production bottlenecks. By providing suppliers with advanced guidance, the company aims to ensure a smooth ramp-up in production capacity and avoid any disruptions in the event of higher-than-expected demand.

In addition to the BEV models, Li Auto’s extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) lineup is expected to contribute significantly to the overall sales target. The company’s current models, including the Li Mega MPV and various SUV models, have been well-received in the market.

Looking ahead, Li Auto has exciting plans for the future, with the upcoming launch of the Li i8 and Li i6 pure electric SUV models. These new additions to the company’s product portfolio are expected to drive sales growth in the second half of the year and secure orders for the following year.

Furthermore, Li Auto is focused on product upgrades, expanding its sales network, enhancing marketing efforts, and accelerating its overseas market expansion to achieve its sales targets. The company’s management remains optimistic about the growth potential of EREVs, which have been the mainstay of Li Auto’s sales in recent years.
