Li Auto, a prominent Chinese extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) manufacturer, has made its debut in the Philippines, marking its first entry into the Southeast Asian market. The company has partnered with official distributor HomeAuto Inc to introduce its innovative smart electric vehicles to Filipino consumers.

The Philippines is currently getting a sneak peek at two of Li Auto’s SUV models – the Li L7, a five-seat mid-size SUV, and the Li L9, a six-seat full-size flagship SUV. These vehicles are being showcased at the SM Mall of Asia, offering local customers a glimpse into the brand’s cutting-edge technology and design.

In addition to the Li L7 and Li L9, there are hints of a potential third model, the Li Mega, which may join the lineup once Li Auto’s flagship showroom opens in Bonifacio Global City. Despite the lack of an official announcement from Li Auto regarding its Philippine expansion, local media outlets have reported on the brand’s entry into the market.

HomeAuto Inc CEO Stone Yu expressed excitement about bringing Li Auto’s electric vehicles to the Philippines, citing the country’s increasing awareness of electric vehicles and interest in modern technology as key drivers for the brand’s entry into the market. The local entity operating under the name Li Auto Philippines aims to cater to the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions in the region.

While Li Auto has not officially confirmed its overseas sales strategy, the company has hinted at plans to expand its presence in international markets. With a strong focus on growth and innovation, Li Auto is setting ambitious sales targets for 2025, aiming to deliver 700,000 vehicles and achieve a 40 percent increase in sales volume compared to the previous year.

Beyond the Philippines, Li Auto has already established direct service centers in markets like Kazakhstan, Dubai, and Uzbekistan, signaling its commitment to global expansion. The company’s management has emphasized the importance of exploring new markets with high growth potential and bringing Li Auto’s advanced vehicles to customers worldwide.

As Li Auto continues to push boundaries in the electric vehicle industry, its entry into the Philippine market marks a significant milestone in the brand’s international growth strategy. With a strong lineup of EREV models and a focus on innovation, Li Auto is poised to make a lasting impact on the global automotive landscape.
