LiuGong, a Chinese equipment manufacturer, is showcasing its latest innovations in battery-electric construction equipment at bauma 2025. The company’s display includes a new 870HE wheel loader, electric excavators, rigid mining trucks, and the world’s first 25-ton electric grader.
At the bauma construction equipment show in Munich, Germany, LiuGong had a significant presence with panels, hospitality booths, and more to highlight its position as a global leader in electric wheel loader production and a full-solution provider for the quarrying and mining sectors. During a press conference, LiuGong’s Chairman & CEO, Zeng Guang’an, emphasized the company’s focus on globalization and comprehensive equipment solutions. He mentioned plans to expand their global footprint and establish new regional hubs in Italy, France, and Germany, while also deepening collaboration with dealers to provide high-quality equipment and professional localized services to European customers.
The company showcased an extensive lineup of electric construction equipment at the event, including the 870HE wheel loader, 924FE and 9018FE electric excavators, DR50CE rigid mining truck, and the 4280DE electric motor grader. The 4280DE is a 25-ton all-electric motor grader designed for haul road maintenance at quarries and mines. It features a 423 kWh battery offering 8 to 10 hours of continuous runtime and was developed based on customer feedback for power, precision, and seamless integration into existing equipment fleets.
The 924FE electric excavator offers noise and air quality benefits in enclosed, underground environments, where quiet and vibration-free operation is essential for worker safety and efficiency. It has a 24,900 kg operating weight with a standard cubic meter bucket capacity and is powered by a 165 kW electric motor drawing power from a 423 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.
The DR50CE rigid mining truck boasts dual series electric motors delivering over 9,700 lb-ft of torque. With a massive 50,000 kg payload capacity, the truck utilizes regenerative brakes on downhill grades for energy-efficient operation. Although the battery pack size is not specified, it is presumed to be the same as the rest of the lineup.
LiuGong’s presence at bauma 2025 signifies its commitment to innovation in the electric construction equipment space. As a global leader in heavy equipment manufacturing, the company’s expansion into the US market suggests that their battery-powered equipment may soon be seen on job sites across North America.
