The New MG HS: A Stylish and Efficient SUV

The latest iteration of the MG HS brings a fresh new look that is sure to turn heads on the road. Drawing inspiration from the MG 3 hybrid supermini, the new HS features slimmer headlights, a revised front grille, a new light bar at the rear, and reworked bumpers. The iconic octagonal badge now sits proudly on the bonnet, showcasing MG’s new design direction.

Available in five vibrant colors including black, white, grey, silver, and red, the MG HS has a sleek and modern appearance. It is 30mm lower, 26mm longer, and 14mm wider than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase of 2756mm. The spacious interior and premium features make it a strong competitor in the SUV segment.

Under the hood, drivers can choose between a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 168bhp and 203lb ft of torque or an advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain. The plug-in hybrid variant boasts a 24.7kWh battery, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 207bhp primary electric drive motor, and a second starter-generator, delivering a total output of 295bhp and 258lb ft. With a 62mph sprint time of 6.8 seconds and an impressive electric range of 75 miles, the MG HS PHEV sets a new standard in its class.

Looking ahead, MG is set to introduce a mild-hybrid petrol version of the HS in early 2025. While the pure-petrol model is expected to be a top seller, the PHEV variant is likely to attract eco-conscious buyers with its exceptional efficiency and performance.
