Kia has officially unveiled the production design of its upcoming EV4, set to launch later this year. The EV4 is positioned to compete with the Volkswagen ID 3 in the European market, offering a sleek five-door hatchback design that will rival popular electric vehicles such as the Hyundai Kona Electric, Renault Mégane E-Tech, and Mini Aceman.
Based on the E-GMP platform shared with other Kia EVs, the EV4 will be available with a choice of 58kWh or 81kWh batteries, along with options for front- or four-wheel drive. With an expected range of over 350 miles and 400V charging capability for speeds up to 128kW, the EV4 promises to deliver both efficiency and convenience for electric vehicle owners.
Like other Kia EV models, the EV4 is anticipated to receive a high-performance GT variant in the future, offering impressive power and acceleration to compete with top electric sports cars. The interior of the EV4 is expected to feature a modern design with a digital display, premium materials, and a focus on comfort and luxury.
More details about the EV4 will be revealed on February 27th at Kia’s annual EV Day showcase, where the brand will also introduce a concept for the EV2 – a compact electric hatchback aimed at the Volkswagen ID 2 and Renault 5. With a targeted starting price of around £25,000, the EV2 will offer a more affordable option for consumers looking to transition to electric vehicles.
Stay tuned for updates on the Kia EV4 and other exciting electric vehicle developments from Kia at the upcoming showcase.
