Introducing the Subaru Trailseeker: An Electric Off-Road Powerhouse
The Subaru Trailseeker has been unveiled as the latest addition to Subaru’s electric vehicle lineup, offering a rugged off-road capability that is sure to impress outdoor enthusiasts. This all-electric vehicle is set to launch in the USA in early 2026, with plans to expand its availability to Europe in the near future.
Developed as Subaru’s first in-house electric car, the Trailseeker shares the same platform as the Solterra electric SUV but boasts a distinctive Subaru design and engineering. With four-wheel drive and 8.3 inches of ground clearance, this electric powerhouse is ready to tackle any terrain with ease.
Under the hood, the Trailseeker is powered by a pair of 201bhp motors, one per axle, delivering a maximum system output of 375bhp. This impressive powertrain enables the Trailseeker to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 4.4 seconds, offering thrilling performance both on and off the road.
Equipped with a 74.4kWh lithium-ion battery, the Trailseeker boasts a range of 260 miles on the EPA test cycle. Fast-charging capabilities allow for a 10-80% charge in less than 35 minutes, making it convenient for long-distance journeys.
In terms of practicality, the Trailseeker offers ample cargo space, comparable to the Outback estate. Inside, drivers will find a spacious cabin with a 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and a high-set digital instrument panel, providing a modern and intuitive driving experience.
While pricing details have yet to be announced, the Trailseeker is expected to be positioned above the Solterra in Subaru’s electric vehicle lineup. Deliveries are set to begin in the US early next year, followed closely by the UK and other European markets.
In addition to the Trailseeker, Subaru has confirmed plans to launch two more electric vehicles this year, further expanding its EV offerings. As Subaru continues to collaborate with Toyota on joint EV models, the future looks bright for Subaru’s electric vehicle lineup.
