Kenworth has recently introduced the Bendix Fusion advanced driver assist system (ADAS) as an option for their T680 line of Class 8 commercial semi trucks. This includes the Next Generation T680E battery electric semi truck, which was showcased at the 2025 ACT Expo in Anaheim, California. The T680E features cutting-edge battery-electric technology, a sleek exterior design, and a range of new, in-cab technologies that now include three Bendix Fusion versions: ADAS, ADAS PRO, and ADAS PREMIER.

These new ADAS packages come with updated features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with ACC Stop and Auto Goâ„¢, Pedestrian Autonomous Emergency Braking (PAEB), and High Beam Assist. These enhancements, along with existing features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning, and Blindspotter Side Object Detection, make driving the Kenworth T680E safer and more efficient for both the truck operators and other road users.

In addition to the advanced ADAS systems, the Kenworth T680E is equipped with Kenworth DigitalVision Mirrors, making driving even easier and safer. These digital mirrors provide enhanced visibility and reduce blind spots, further improving the overall safety of the vehicle.

The Next-Generation T680E is powered by a PACCAR Integrated ePowertrain with up to 605 peak hp and 1,850 lb-ft of torque, derived from a 500 kWh li-ion battery pack. This setup allows for over 200 miles of loaded range and can handle up to 82,000 lb. gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR). The T680E also boasts a quick charging capability, with a peak charge rate of 350 kW that can charge the vehicle up to 90% in just two hours.

According to Joe Adams, Kenworth’s chief engineer, the new PACCAR design of the T680E enhances serviceability, providing easier access to Master Service Disconnects for improved safety and increased uptime. The truck is designed for short and regional-haul, LTL, and drayage operations, offering configurations as a day cab tractor or straight truck in a 6×4 axle setup.

Overall, the Next Generation Kenworth T680E electric semi truck represents a significant advancement in electric truck technology, offering improved safety features, enhanced performance, and greater efficiency. With its state-of-the-art ADAS systems and innovative design, the T680E sets a new standard for electric commercial vehicles in the industry.
