Nio Celebrates 10th Anniversary and Expands into Multi-Brand Operations
Nio, a pioneering electric vehicle (EV) company founded on November 25, 2014, is embarking on a new chapter with multi-brand operations. The company has already introduced the Onvo sub-brand and is gearing up to launch the Firefly brand next month.
Today marks Nio’s 10th anniversary, a significant milestone as the company ventures into a diversified brand strategy.
“Ten years ago today, Nio was founded at a pivotal moment in the automotive industry’s evolution. Our mission of Blue Sky Coming propelled us to become a user-centric enterprise with cutting-edge technology and unparalleled user experience,” expressed William Li, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Nio, in a post on the Nio App.
With over 620,000 loyal users globally, Nio has cultivated a distinct community of supporters over the years, marking its journey from a premium EV market entrant to an industry frontrunner.
Since its inception, Nio has rolled out a range of models, including the ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5, and ET5 Touring. The company’s latest addition, the ET9 executive flagship sedan, is set to hit the roads in the first quarter of 2025.
Expanding its portfolio, Nio introduced the Onvo sub-brand earlier this year, with the launch of the L60 model. The brand’s success paved the way for the unveiling of the Firefly brand, scheduled for debut at Nio Day 2024 on December 21. The first Firefly model is slated for delivery in the first half of 2025.
To commemorate its decade-long journey, Nio announced a special 10th-anniversary package for the 2024 ES8. Customers ordering the model between November 25 and February 28, 2025, will receive the exclusive package at no additional cost.
Nio’s Future Outlook
Looking ahead, Deutsche Bank projects significant growth for Nio’s brands, forecasting sales of 223,000 cars for the Nio brand, 219,000 for Onvo, and 8,000 for Firefly by 2025.
