Nio Day 2025 to be moved to fall instead of year-end

Nio, the leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, recently announced a significant change to its annual event, Nio Day. The company revealed that Nio Day 2025 will be moved up to this fall instead of the usual end of the year. This decision was made in consultation with community users and aims to take advantage of the peak sales season in the fourth quarter.

One of the key highlights of Nio Day 2025 will be the launch of the third-generation ES8 SUV, Nio’s luxury three-row flagship vehicle. This new model was recently listed in the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s regulatory filing catalog, showcasing its larger size compared to its predecessor. The third-generation ES8 is set to debut in the fourth quarter of this year.

The decision to move Nio Day to the fall season offers several advantages, including pleasant weather and greater flexibility in venue selection. By aligning the event with the delivery schedule of a key product in the fourth quarter, Nio aims to enhance the cost-effectiveness of the event. Additionally, holding the event in the fall allows overseas users a better opportunity to participate, as it avoids the busy Christmas period in December.

To prepare for Nio Day 2025, the company has officially launched the recruitment of the Nio Day 2025 User Advisory Committee. This move marks the first major adjustment to the timing of Nio Day in eight years, signaling a shift towards prioritizing the cost-effectiveness of the event.

Nio Day is a highly anticipated annual event for Nio, typically featuring the unveiling of new models and technologies. The event has traditionally been held on a Saturday in the second half of December each year, with the exception of Nio Day 2020, which was postponed to January 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The most recent Nio Day in 2024 was held in Guangzhou, where Nio introduced the ET9 flagship sedan and launched the Firefly brand targeting the premium compact car market. With the upcoming Nio Day 2025 set for the fall season, the company looks forward to engaging with its community and showcasing its latest innovations and products to a global audience.
