Nio’s sub-brand Firefly is gearing up for the launch of its first model, which will be available in five body color options with English names. The model, named Firefly, is currently on pre-sales for RMB 148,800 ($20,510) and is set to be officially launched on April 19.

The five body color options for the Firefly model include lavender (purple), plum (green), sand (beige), marble (white), and graphite (gray). The brand announced these options on Weibo, inviting customers to embark on a colorful journey together.

Firefly was officially introduced by Nio on Nio Day 2024, with the aim of competing with BMW’s Mini and Mercedes-Benz’s Smart in the global market. The first model from Firefly is positioned as a high-end boutique car, offering a unique and stylish driving experience.

Pre-sales for the compact battery electric vehicle (BEV) model began on Nio Day 2024 at a competitive price point. The model is equipped with a 42.1-kWh battery pack and has a CLTC range of 420 kilometers, making it a practical and efficient option for urban driving.

In preparation for the launch of the Firefly model, Nio plans to establish demonstration battery swap stations in cities with high user density. This will allow customers to easily access battery swap services and ensure a seamless driving experience.

Additionally, Nio has partnered with battery supplier CATL to jointly build the world’s largest battery swap service network. The Firefly model will be integrated into Nio’s battery swap system, ensuring convenient and reliable battery swapping services for customers.

With a focus on global markets, Firefly is set to make a mark in the automotive industry with its innovative and stylish approach to electric vehicles. Stay tuned for the official launch of the Firefly model on April 19, as Nio continues to revolutionize the electric vehicle market.
