Nio Launches Higher-Priced Champion Edition Variants for ET5, ET5 Touring, and EC6

Nio (NYSE: NIO) has recently introduced the Champion Edition for its ET5 sedan, ET5 Touring wagon, and EC6 coupe SUV to celebrate the company’s historic victory in the inaugural Formula E Championship in 2015. This move is a nod to Nio’s achievement in securing the first-ever annual drivers’ championship title in the Formula E competition.

The starting prices for the ET5 and ET5 Touring Champion Editions, which include the battery pack, have been set at RMB 316,000. This represents an increase of RMB 18,000 from the standard versions, reflecting a 6.04 percent price hike. For customers opting for the BaaS (Battery as a Service) purchasing plan, the starting prices are RMB 246,000.

Similarly, the EC6 Champion Edition, including the battery pack, is priced at RMB 370,000, which is RMB 12,000 or 3.35 percent higher than the standard version. Under the BaaS scheme, the EC6 Champion Edition starts at RMB 300,000.

The Champion Edition models boast exclusive exterior designs inspired by championship-winning race cars. They feature the Moon exterior theme package, which includes matte metal accents and a distinctive Champion Edition badge to emphasize their premium status. The ET5 and ET5 Touring Champion Editions come with larger 20-inch wheels and offer nine exterior color options, while the EC6 Champion Edition comes with 21-inch wheels and eight exterior color choices.

In addition to these enhancements, Nio has announced that Nio Day 2025 will be rescheduled to this fall, coinciding with the launch of the third-generation ES8 SUV. This aligns with Nio’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the electric vehicle market.
