NIO, the renowned electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially launched pre-orders for its latest offering in China – the Onvo L90. This three-row electric SUV comes with a price tag of 193,900 yuan, which translates to approximately $27,000. What sets the Onvo L90 apart is its lightweight construction, making it the lightest full-size three-row SUV in its class with a curb weight of just under 5,000 lbs.

Designed to cater to families, the Onvo L90 boasts ample interior space and cutting-edge technology. With dimensions measuring 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,766 mm in height, this SUV competes with high-end electric vehicles like Li Auto’s L9 in the Chinese market.

One of the key selling points of the Onvo L90 is its affordability. Priced at $27,000 for those opting to rent the battery, NIO also offers a Battery as a Service (BaaS) option for 899 yuan per month. Even with the battery included, the starting price of the Onvo L90 remains competitive at 279,900 yuan ($39,000).

In terms of performance, the Onvo L90 is powered by an 85 kWh battery, delivering an impressive CLTC range of 605 km (367 miles). It operates on NIO’s next-gen 900V platform, achieving a class-leading energy consumption rate of just 14.5 kWh per 100 km. Buyers can choose between single and all-wheel-drive powertrains, with the AWD version offering up to 590 hp and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.

The interior of the Onvo L90 is equipped with a 17.2″ floating infotainment screen, a three-zone climate control system, and luxurious features like massage, heating, and ventilation for every seat. Additionally, rear passengers can enjoy an entertainment screen and a built-in refrigerator.

NIO is offering an incentive for early pre-order customers, providing a 5,000 yuan credit towards the vehicle and additional optional features for those who place a deposit of 2,000 yuan. Deliveries of the Onvo L90 are set to commence on August 1, marking the arrival of NIO’s second Onvo-branded EV in China, following the smaller L60 model launched last year.

With NIO’s commitment to innovation and affordability, the Onvo L90 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to NIO’s lineup.
