Nio, a leading electric vehicle (EV) maker, has officially opened test drives for its executive flagship sedan, the ET9. The company announced that deliveries for the ET9 will begin on March 29, allowing general visitors to experience the luxury sedan firsthand.
Customers who pay a deposit to purchase an ET9 on or before April 30 will receive upgraded benefits, including extended free services such as battery swap and driver assistance functions. The ET9, unveiled in December 2023 and officially launched in December 2024, is Nio’s most expensive model with a starting price of RMB 788,000 yuan ($108,930).
One of the standout features of the ET9 is its SkyRide intelligent chassis system, which is claimed to be the world’s first integrated hydraulic fully active suspension. This system allows for instantaneous adjustment of stiffness, damping, and height, resulting in superior ride comfort and safety.
Nio founder and CEO William Li shared a video on Weibo showcasing the ET9 vehicles fresh off the production line. He mentioned that he would be providing a test drive for one of the first customers who placed an order, promising to share a video of the experience later.
The ET9 has garnered attention for its impressive chassis capabilities, with a recent video demonstrating the sedan’s ability to maintain stability while going over a ramp at high speeds. Media reporters and influencers who had the opportunity to test drive the ET9 praised its performance on social media.
Nio has also introduced a limited edition of the ET9, priced at RMB 818,000 yuan, with only 999 units available. These limited-edition models sold out within 12 hours of going on sale and will be delivered first.
In addition to the upgraded benefits for early purchasers, Nio is offering extended free services for battery swap and driver assistance functions for customers who pay a deposit before April 30. The company is committed to providing a premium experience for ET9 owners, ensuring they receive top-notch service and support.
Overall, the ET9 represents Nio’s foray into the luxury executive sedan market, challenging established foreign brands like Mercedes-Benz Maybach. With its advanced technology, superior performance, and exclusive benefits, the ET9 is set to make a mark in the EV industry.
