Nio, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, is pulling out all the stops this month to boost sales and meet its fourth-quarter delivery targets. The company is offering enhanced promotional benefits to new car buyers, including extended access to its assisted-driving software and improved perks for those opting for the BaaS (battery as a service) program.
Customers who pay a deposit for a Nio vehicle in December can enjoy a generous option fund of up to RMB 20,000 ($2,760), similar to the benefits offered in November. Additionally, the NOP+ (Navigate on Pilot Plus) free usage rights have been extended to five years from the previous three years. Existing Nio vehicle owners who purchased before December 1, 2024, will also receive the five-year NOP+ free usage rights, but this extension is exclusive to first owners and excludes second-hand car buyers.
For customers choosing the BaaS model, Nio is now offering one bill waiver after every three BaaS bill payments, up to a maximum of 15 waivers. This is an improvement from the previous offer, where customers could only receive one waiver after every four BaaS bill payments, up to a maximum of 12 waivers. Additionally, customers trading in their old vehicles for a new Nio car will receive a voucher for 20 free experiences of Nio’s battery swap service.
Existing Nio vehicle owners looking to upgrade will also receive special benefits. Customers repurchasing certain models like the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, or EC6 will receive an additional discount of RMB 5,000, while those opting for models like ET7, ES7, EC7, or ES8 will get an extra RMB 10,000 discount. Customers who repurchased a vehicle between October 1 and November 30, 2024, and have already taken delivery, can receive compensation in the form of corresponding value points.
In a bid to meet its fourth-quarter delivery guidance, Nio delivered 20,575 vehicles in November, marking a 28.92 percent increase from the same period last year. However, this figure represented a slight decline from the previous month. The company aims to deliver between 72,000 to 75,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter, with total annual deliveries expected to be in the range of 221,000 to 224,000 vehicles.
With these enhanced promotions and benefits, Nio is confident in its ability to attract more customers and achieve its delivery targets in the competitive EV market.
